What’s New for 2010

GOING A BIT GREEN:

As a photographer, this can be a hard one to do! This year I am eliminating some extra paper, saving a tree and directly loading all non boudoir webshare images for clients directly into a folder on my Facebook page. You are welcome to download them, tag yourself, email and share them with family and friends. These will be uploaded after your first print order. Boudoir and pin-up webshare images can be emailed directly to you for privacy.

NEW 2010 WEDDINGS:

After my introductory year, I’ve revamped my wedding packages to now include a beautiful hard cover press printed book of images. Wedding packages also come with free engagement sessions and those images are turned into a hard cover guest signing book for your wedding. What a great keepsake! Digital files are available for purchase by image or by set. I’ve added ‘add on’ options as well for those who wish to amp up their package. This year I am also offering a great reception alternative: the Fun Booth, a mini studio set up right at your reception for zany photos of your guests.

GIVING BACK THROUGH BOUDOIR AND PINUP:

For 2010, Blackbird Photography will be donating 10% of all Boudoir or Pinup photosession fees to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. My mother in law is a breast cancer survivor. She is the strongest person I know, and although she has been through much pain, trauma and fear, she is still here today, still goes to work, and is still able to hug and love her family for which we are all grateful. If making a donation can contribute to help cure or aid sufferers in need I am proud to do it. This is something that affects us all in, and may affect us more than we ever know. GIVING BACK THROUGH A DONATION OF TIME:

I’ve also partnered with Think Pink Photography, a photographers collective that supports individuals and their families that have been touched by breast cancer. Through our professional photographer network, we are helping breast cancer patients to celebrate life with charitable photography sessions. Individuals may choose to document their fight against the disease before or during treatment, or prefer to capture their victory by scheduling a session within 12 months after treatment is completed. Photographers world-wide are now available to donate time and talent to celebrate life and support the cause.is no cost or obligation to the breast cancer patient. Clients participating in a Think Pink Session will receive a complimentary photo session, as well as a set of 10 small prints from the session. They will also receive a discount on any additional portraits they wish to purchase, although there is absolutely no purchase required at any time. Learn more here.

PRINTS AND PRODUCTS

Shipping prices and prints and product prices have changed for 2010. (Listed on my website for you to see). I am really excited to be introducing new products this spring. I’ve switched some suppliers and added new products to my lineup. In February I will be releasing a new set of holiday, baby announcement and wedding card designs and offering new 5×7 greeting cards and announcement cards.

GIVING AWAY A FREE SESSION

If you follow my facebook page, in December you’d have seen the crazy Six Days of Christmas holiday contests. Day one contest is still going on. When Blackbird Photography’s facebook page hits 200 members I’ll be giving away a free photosession to a lucky winner. Keep an eye on the page, which is already over 130 members at this moment. Babies first year ($550)

This great deal includes four sessions:

• basic maternity belly session 
• Newborn portrait session
• Portrait session for baby at six months old
• Portrait session for baby at one year old
• Final images printed in hard cover press printed book as a keepsake after all sessions complete.

Hatchling packages may be split into two payments with final payment to be paid in full before or no later than the time of the newborn session.

• all images are retouched and edited (blemishes begone!)
• password protected private online digital gallery for proofing
• add a calendar of session images for $45 at time of session

A non refundable (but totally transferable) deposit of $50 is required to book (goes toward your package). Payment accepted by VISA, MC, email money transfer or Paypal.  Payment is required at time of session except for orders of products or prints.
